Privacy policy

selim.services is run by Selim Ataballyev. Anything you send through this site reaches one person, at selimdev00@gmail.com, which is also the address to write to about this policy or about data you have already sent.

The form asks for a name, an email address and a message. The page also records which language version you submitted from, so the reply comes back in the same one.

Those fields are delivered as an email through Resend and land in a personal inbox. They are not written to a database on this site, and the site keeps no copy of its own - the message lives in that inbox for as long as the conversation is useful, the way any other email would.

The form carries a hidden field that real people never see. If it comes back filled in, the submission is discarded as automated and no email is sent.

Subscribing stores an email address at Resend, which is what sends the messages. Nothing else is asked for and nothing else is stored.

Confirmation is double opt-in: the address receives nothing until you click the link in the first email, so someone else entering your address does not subscribe you. Every message carries a one-click unsubscribe, and unsubscribing removes the address from the list rather than flagging it.

The production site loads Google Analytics 4 to count page views and see which articles get read. It is not loaded in development or preview builds.

GA4 sets its own cookies and gives Google an IP address it uses for coarse geography. What comes back to me is aggregate: pages, referrers, countries, devices. I do not use it to build a profile of an individual reader, and there is no advertising or remarketing tag on the site.

If you would rather not be counted, any tracker blocker or Google's own opt-out add-on stops it, and nothing on the site breaks without it.

Links shared from social accounts or the newsletter sometimes carry `utm_` parameters in the URL. They record which post or which pin a visit came from and nothing about the person who clicked. Deleting them from the address bar changes nothing except that the visit stops being attributable.

The site is a set of static files served from a Hetzner server in Germany behind the Caddy web server. Like any web server it writes request logs, which include IP addresses, and those are used to keep the site up and to see abuse, not to identify readers.

DNS runs through Cloudflare in DNS-only mode, so requests go straight to the server rather than through a proxy.

Write to selimdev00@gmail.com and ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Because the only stores are an email inbox and a Resend contact list, that is a short list and a quick answer.

Unsubscribing from the newsletter needs no email at all - the link at the foot of every message does it.

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. There is no archive of previous versions; the page is short enough to read again.
